Lyrics: Ode to boy

Ode to boy
When he moves I watch him from behind He turns and laughter flickers in his eyes Intent and direct when he speaks, I watch his lips And when he drives I love to watch his hand White and smooth almost feminine, almost American, I have to watch him. [chorus] I watch his lips caress the glass, [chorus] [credit: Moyet] |
Note: In these voyeuristic lyrics a woman observes a boy. Apparently she knows him, because she has seen him driving, but there is not deeper connection. Only in the last four lines it becomes apparent that he has lost something, presumably a lover, and that the woman admires him even more as he copes with it. |
